Perfectly Placed Dental Implants

Guided Implant Surgery Delivers the Smile You Want

As the most natural-looking, long-lasting teeth replacement option available today, dental implants have the ability to transform your smile. When fundamental daily activities like eating, speaking, and smiling have become painful or embarrassing, dental implants can restore your quality of life and even make you feel more confident. As life-changing as dental implants can be, the exceptional results they can provide depend on correct placement. With the help of advanced technology, the multidisciplinary team here at Great Neck & Mid-Island Dental Associates—general dentists, periodontists, oral surgeons, prosthodontists and more—can extensively pre-plan and perform guided implant surgery for optimal accuracy, efficiency, and stability of placement. This enables us to deliver more predictable and impressive results—that means a faster, more precise full mouth dental implant procedure. Only practices that use this technology can offer these advantages!

The Guided Dental Implant Placement Process

Every implant case begins with a personalized consultation between you and one of our implant experts. Once we determine that dental implants are the right option for you, we can begin preparing you for the procedure. What distinguishes our guided implant surgery from unguided (or “freehand”) surgery is the advanced planning that the technology allows. We begin the placement process by taking a CT scan of your mouth using a scan prosthesis to take the place of your future implants. This provides us with a 3D image that enables us to both see the area we’ll be working in and also to show you what that work entails. The scan is also sent to 3D Diagnostix (3DDX), where a simulation of the implant is created and sent back to us for any necessary adjustments. 3DDX then fabricates a customized surgical guide for us to use during the procedure. To better help you understand what the finished product will look like, we also provide a 3D model of your post-procedure jaw. During placement, the surgical guide is literally a template that shows us exactly where to insert the implants. Guided implant surgery is a virtually foolproof way to give you the spectacular, healthy smile you desire!
