Implant Supported Dentures

For patients missing multiple or all teeth, implant supported dentures can provide a great replacement. The advanced restoration is a more permanent alternative to traditional dentures, as the denture is attached to dental implants. While traditional dentures simply replace your teeth sitting atop your gums, implant supported dentures replace the entire tooth and root. This actually stimulates your bone, helping retain the structure of your jaw over time.

If you are interested in replacing your removable dentures with implant supported dentures, or would like more information about the dental solution, please contact us to schedule an appointment. Our oral surgeon and periodontists are more than happy to answer any questions you may have.

Benefits of Implant Supported Dentures

Patients who opt to undergo the implant supported dentures procedure can look forward to a number of benefits that traditional dentures cannot offer them. These unique advantages to the system include the following:

  • Reduces bone loss and gum irritation
  • Allows you to eat, speak, and smile normally
  • Fixed dentures that do not slip
  • Eliminates need for pastes or adhesives
  • Customized, natural-looking restoration

More details about what you can  expect from the advanced denture solution can be discussed during your consultation.

Types of Implant Supported Dentures

The All-On-4® system is composed of four implants in the upper or lower jaw to support a denture. The two implant posts towards the back of the jaw are angled to provide a stronger anchor for the denture for more stability. This reduces the need for bone grafts because the implants are longer, allowing them to fuse with more of the available jawbone. Immediately following the implant procedure, a temporary denture restoration is loaded to the implants for fast, natural-looking results.
