The Laser Assisted New Attachment Procedure, better known as LANAP Nd:YAG™, is cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to treat moderate to severe gum disease.
LANAP Nd:YAG™ is a minimally invasive procedure, and because of this, it can be performed on a wide range of patients, including those with conditions that may complicate the healing process, such as diabetes and hemophilia, as well as people who have dental implants. The technology offers a faster and more comfortable treatment process for patients suffering from the effects of periodontal disease.
Dr. Sam Morhaim and Dr. Navid Baradarian are certified by Millenium Dental Technologies, Inc., the makers of LANAP Nd:YAG™, to perform this laser procedure. Having undergone specialty training on the device, they are able to provide optimal results with safety and patient comfort in mind.
Our experienced periodontists utilize the advanced PerioLase® MVP-7™ laser technology for the LANAP Nd:YAG™ procedure. This device offers precise treatment for bacterial infections in the gums via a less invasive procedure when compared to traditional gum surgery. It is guided between the gum and tooth to remove damaged tissue, while also stimulating growth of new, healthy tissue. The PerioLase® MVP-7™ laser is able to target infected tissue without affecting surrounding, healthy tissue.
